If you buy something online, you have a 14-day period to cancel your purchase and get a refund. You do not have to provide an explanation for why you want to return the product. You can use this letter template to cancel your purchase and request a refund.

Dear Sir/Madam,

On <date> I bought a <product name> online from your <business name> that cost € <enter the total amount here>. I received this product on <date>.

The <product name> unfortunately does not meet my expectations. I therefore am using my legal right to cancel an online sales agreement within 14 days of receiving the product.

I am returning the product unused and according to the conditions stated on your website. I request that you return the purchase amount of € <state the total amount> within 14 days of receiving the returned product through the same payment method that I used to buy the product.

If I do not receive this refund I will consider making a claim under the European Small Claims Procedure.
